02.11.10Rapid VolumeThe winter term is over. But nothing is over with out a big show down. So the students of the Rapid Volume project I conducted with my colleague Wilm Fuchs at the University of the Arts in Berlin had shown their result in very good presentation. 02.09.10…it´s a competitive worldSomehow the SMSlingshot has been selected as one of the winners at the Art of Engineering Award. Beside 20 other projects the SMSlingshot is exhibited till the 15th of february at the "Deutsche Technik Museum" in Berlin.

01.13.10M is for mekkaWow. I will go to the MIT MediaLab and present the SMSlingshot while the TEI conference end of january. This will be fun.... I can´t believe it. THE MIT!!! And it´s getting much more unbelievable, because there will propably be a workshop I will give, too. Currently I am preparing everything like slides, materials, models and some software tasks, so I might be a bit inconvenient at the moment for other things. 01.06.10interdisciplinarityCurrently I do work with students from the University of the Arts Berlin on a project to document several interdisciplinary short term projects that are taking place right now. We try to cover all projects containing fashion design, communication design, industrial design, sound studies and architecture that happen on the same time. So everyone of the team is rushing through the city, taking interviews, making photos and publishing it on the go. 12.03.09ARDUINO / Fritzing workshopThis and last week i gave a workshop on Fritzing and Arduino at the college for applied sciences in Dresden. Togther with the incredebly skilled Daniel Schulze (what a pleasure to do this workshop with him) we had three days to explore the foundations of physical computing using arduino microprocessor boards and fritzing software. The first day we cleared the basics of programming tangible interactions, electricity and tried out first little programs. 09.14.09uzraksti savu sutijumu, teme, sauBack from Riga. It was an overall amazing trip. So many new friends, so many new attitudes, ideas, ways of looking into and out of the world. The white nights festival was a full success. A lot of visitors were there, trying out the SMSlingshot, spreading their messages onto the wall of Latvias contemporary art museum and buzzed away to the next stop of the night. 07.09.09Rundgang 09Please feel invited to join the final presentation of the SwarmLab project I hosted this semester at the University of Fine Arts. The presentation will take place 10.oo o clock next thursday at the project pavillon, next to the mathematics faculty. We will show twelve student works, related to swarm intelligence and swarm aestethics as well as excerpts of the keynote talks. There will be also possibilities to see the project while the UdK Rundgang from 17. - 19. july. The results of the Sketching in Space and Rapid Stool Invention projects will be presented too.
